Natural Gas

Natural Gas Division is responsible for natural gas transmission on the domestic high-pressure gas delivery system within Hungary and to key markets abroad.

After the agreement on selling the other two division members (MOL Natural Gas Supply Plc. and MOL Natural Gas Storage Plc.) by Mol Plc. the only member of the Gas Division became MOL Natural Gas Transmission Plc, which company is the only market player that carries out system operation activity.

Both the domestic transmission and the system operation activities take place in regulated market environment.

The place of natural gas transmission activity in the Hungarian market

In Hungary it is only MOL Natural Gas Transmission Plc., which has acquired the licence of the Hungarian Energy Office to carry out natural gas transmission activity.

System Operation

MOL Natural Gas Transmission Plc. carries out the activity in connection with the system operational license through a separate organisation which ensures impartial, discrimination free, continuous and transparent business operation of the natural gas transmission system and the resources-consumption (supply and demand) equilibrium within the natural gas transmission system with the due observance of the technical and profitability requirements provided.

Transit activity

Presently MOL Natural Gas Transmission Plc. renders transit transport services for two partners in the south Slavonian region, which means transit activity between the Ukrainian-Hungarian and Serbian-Hungarian borders.
